Shopify has partnered with JD.com to expand into China.
JD.com will allow Shopify merchants to open stores in China in three to four weeks, with foreign brands typically taking around 12 months to launch sales in the country. The Chinese company will handle price conversion and shipping from the US to China through its logistics division.
For JD.com the partnership is an opportunity to strengthen its presence outside of China and increase its competitive advantage with overseas brands.
